New baby girl

Hi There,
Another very quick post from me I`m afraid, to share a card I made using my latest buy from Lili of the Valley.
I adore this stamp and I`m sure ,with a bit more time, I can do alot more with it. Having said that, I am pleased with this card.
Dp is Pink Petticoat Gingham & Swiss dots.
I`ve coloured the image with markers and added a touch of glamour dust to the stars and hearts. I then cut it out with Spell binders Floral Oval die.
I`m trying to use up my peel off corners ( who uses these anymore?) but thought they looked fab on this card.
I`ve finished it off with some punched leaves and flowers from my stash and added some flat back pearls and a couple of pearl hearts.
The sentiment is by The Stampman stamped and embossed in detail silver EP. To make the banner I simply left enough paper at either end to roll around a cable needle and added a small dab of quickie glue to hold it in place.
I think that`ll be it from me for a couple of weeks. It` going to be more graft than craft for the next two days and then we leave home early on friday to begin our holiday. Missing you all already ;-)

Simply Less is More # 167

Hi There,
And it`s saturday again which means it`s time for another challenge at Simply Less is More. It`s one layer week and this time we are SHADOW STAMPING.

Eek! Not something I`ve done before but I thought I`d give it a go. I`ve made two cards but I`m not overly happy with either of them.

My first card looks as though I dropped the stamp after using it.
I embossed a frame with a nestie square die and chalked in different shades of yellow after masking with post its.
I stamped the image, elegant weeds in black Memento and then moved it slightly and stamped again without reinking.
I discovered a tiny speck of ink on the left of the image so I`ve had to cover that with a clear gem and I added a couple more because it would have looked really silly with just one :-)
The sentiment is by Flourishes Tag Lines.

My second cards looks more like retro wallpaper than shadow inking but by now I`ve almost given up the will to live lol.
I stamped the leaf  ( Turning a new leaf by Papertrey inc) first in London Fog and then, after moving the stamp slightly, in New Sprout.
The sentiment is by Layers of Color ( at least that went right)

I`ll not be around after next friday so I wont be able to join in for a couple of weeks as we`re going on our first cruise holiday. Two weeks in the Med and I can`t wait. Still got lots to do though before we go so I`d better get on with it.

Grandaughters 18th Birthday...eek

oooh that makes me feel sooo old.

Hi there, as you might have gathered our grandaughter Charlotte turned 18 yesterday. I honestly don`t know where the years have gone. Seems like only yesterday I was sat in the delivery room watching her being born.
Anyway, a special card was in order but ...what to do. I thought a floral fancy was a bit twee for 18 but CaS seemed a bit too plain. After much umming and arring I turned to Pinterest for inspiration and found THIS card which I promptly CASED.

It had to be purple ( she is so not a pink girl) so I thought I`d go a bit over the top with it.
The DP is Pink Petticoat Brocade in Pansey and I managed to match it with some purple card and ribbon .
The wording is computer generated, I`ve changed the wording slightly from the original, and I`ve cut it out with a Die-namics tag die.
I cut a star (Sizzix) in silver glitter card and the numbers ( Memory Box) and Happy Birthday ( Britannia Dies) from purple glitter card.
It went down really well when we gave it to her and I don`t think she`ll have received another one quite like this.
I`m entering this into Pixies Snippet Playground 119 as I`ve used a few bits and bobs from the snippets box.

Simply Less is More # 166

Hi there, I hope I find you well.

It`s saturday once again, where do the days go, and that means it`s time for another challenge at Simply Less is More. It`s colour week this week and the girls have chosen,
                                             A TOUCH OF TURQUOISE
I must admit turquoise is my least favourite colour which is probably why I have no ink whatsoever resembling that shade. It did dawn on me afterwards that I could have used markers for stamping but by then I`d already made my card. Never mind, here is what I came up with,

I didn`t want to many layers on my card so I ran the card base through the Cuttlebug with this stripey EF from Darice. I love this folder, it`s a good size which means I can do the whole card in one go.
I made the tag using a Die-namics die and punched a hole in the top.
I found a small piece of turquoise striped paper from Pink Petticoat
in my  bit box and used it along the bottom of the tag.
I also managed to find some matching card for the Happy Birthday using dies from Britannia dies.
A piece of narrow ribbon and a few small gems and Voila!
It reminds me a bit of a beach hut. Maybe thats because I`m longing for warm sunshine and sand between my toes.
Right, gotta go...I`ve a pile of ironing with my name on it...oh joy!

For Mum in Law

Hi There
Another flying visit from me to share the card I made for Alan`s mum for Mothers day.

I cut the Catalina Wreath by Memory Box 3 times, once in pale green and twice in pink and turned each one slightly before stacking them.
The leaves are by Sizzix and the Flutter Vine is Memory Box, both cut out in the pale green.
The Chloe stem is cut in pink with added pearls.
The flowers are from my stash and the sentiment is PC generated cut out with a nestie oval.
It looked a bit heavy on the left side so I cut a butterfly with a Martha Stewart punch and added some really tiny pearls.
The DP is pink Petticoat Brocade printed in Silver and faded on the PC.

I wasn`t sure about this one. The pink card I used is brighter than I intended but the only paler pink I have tends to be a salmony pink and the butterfly makes it look a bit twee but Alans mum was happy with it and thats what matters.

The leaf die is Marianne designs.
